On August 4, 2023, at 11:49 PM, we bid farewell to Albert DeVarti, a resident of Greenwood Lake, NY, who passed away at The Willows at Ramapo Rehabilitation Center in Suffern, NY. His battle against advanced lung cancer ended, leaving us with memories of a life well-lived.
Born on January 7, 1941, in Jersey City, NJ, Albert touched countless lives in his 82 years. He proudly served his nation as part of the US Navy. Following his service, he embarked on a successful career in sales, with notable stints at Straub Motors and Miracle Ear, where he demonstrated his talent and dedication.
His beloved wife, Lorraine DeVarti, and his children, Michael DeVarti, Lisa Snook (and husband Dave Snook), and Suzanne Martin, survive him. He also leaves behind his stepchildren, Theresa Hunt (and husband George Hunt) and Steven Chanis (and wife Deb Chanis), along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Al was especially appreciative of the tireless support extended by the Meli family, namely Charlie, Jesse, Sam, and Kim.
The void left by Al's departure will be profoundly felt by his family, friends and loved ones. His influence and spirit have become an integral part of their lives.
Strong Basile Funeral Home in Greenwood Lake, NY, will handle Albert's final rites, including his cremation. A ceremony of remembrance, encompassing prayers and a shared meal, will be scheduled at a subsequent date to honor his memory. As we share his journey and celebrate his life, we find comfort, knowing that his spirit will eternally resonate in our hearts.
