Barbara Lynn Zeller Cosgrove, 79, of Middletown, NY, passed away on September 1, 2026.

Barbara was born in New York City to the late George and Muriel Zeller, Barbara grew up in the Bronx before making Orange County her home. There, she built a life centered on family, friendship, community service, and purpose. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Dennis Cosgrove. 

She is survived by her beloved sister, Elaine, and brother-in-law, Gil, of New Hope, PA; her children, Laura Busse and her husband, Thomas (Bob), of Montgomery, NY; Debra Kopp and her husband, Christopher, of Tampa, FL; Lisa Kraemer and her husband, Bill, of Richmond, VA; and Michael Buckley and his wife, Sara, of Middletown, NY. She was a proud grandmother to Elizabeth Ashley and her husband, Matthew; Sarah Morckel and her husband, Quinton; Joshua Kopp; Alexander Kopp; Ava Norris; Mason Buckley; and Lily Buckley. Barbara was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Levi Ashley, Theodore Ashley, and Sadie Ashley.

Throughout her life, Barbara held many positions and generously shared her time and talents with her community. She served the Town of Wallkill in numerous capacities, including, but not limited to, serving as Chairwoman of the Republican Committee and President of the Republican Club. She was the original Dial-A-Bus Coordinator, Planning Board Secretary, served as Director of the Wallkill Housing Authority, and served on the Board and as Property Manager at Senior Way. Over the years, Barbara also dedicated herself to serving on many other boards and organizations.Barbara had a deep love for animals and generously volunteered her time with the Middletown Humane Society. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including crocheting, quilting, sewing, working on puzzles, and reading.Barbara will be remembered as honest, strong, fiercely loyal, and resilient. She was a trusted confidante who could always be relied upon for thoughtful advice and unwavering support. Her strength and loyalty never wavered, and she deeply loved and appreciated the circle of friends who shared her life throughout the years. Her family and friends will remember her strength, independence, devotion to those she loved, and the many ways she gave of herself to her community.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue  Middletown, NY 10940.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Orange County Veterans Cemetery, 111 Craigville Road, Goshen, NY.
