Barbara Jean Morton

Barbara Jean Morton, formerly Barbara Jean Brinson, of Middletown, New York, passed away on May 27, 2025, at Garnet Health Medical Center in Middletown. She was 65 years old. Born on September 16, 1959, in Goshen, New York, Barbara was the daughter of the late Charles Brinson and Irene Price Brinson Page. She was the loving widow of Stephon Morton. Barbara is survived by her four children: Owen Nelson Brinson of Middletown, NY ; Samoane Brinson of Poughkeepsie, NY; Jessica Irene Brinson of the Bronx, NY and Frank Charles Brinson of the Bronx, NY. She is also survived by ten cherished grandchildren. Barbara leaves behind four brothers and two sisters: Tyrone Nelson Brinson and wife Rosalinda of San Antonio, TX; Thomas Wayne Brinson and wife Della of Naperville, IL; Bruce Allen Brinson and wife Jacqueline of San Antonio, TX; William Anthony Page of Utica, NY; Charlotte Ann Green of Oakland, CA; Priscilla Page of Middletown, NY. She is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Barbara was predeceased by her brother John Reginal Price of Goshen, NY; sister Lorraine Marie Marbley of Suitland, MD; brother Nathaniel Eugene Brinson of Washington, D.C.; and stepsister Jocelyn Page of Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from Goshen High School in Goshen, NY, and proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1979-1985 as a food service specialist. Barbara will be remembered for her deep love for her children and grandchildren, her free spirit, her appreciation for old music and classic movies. She loved solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and other brainteasers. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant personality will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

The family would like to thank Garnet Medical Center, Westchester Medical Center and Highland Nursing Home for their care of Barbara Jean during her time of need.

Visitation hours will be held on Saturday June 7, 2025 from 2:00PM-3:15 PM with a Memorial service at 3:15 PM at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y.
