Doreen L. Williams

Doreen Laverne (Seguin) Williams, 78, of Sparrow Bush, New York, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at Westchester Medical Center in New York. She was born on September 28, 1947, and was raised in Niagara, New York. Daughter of the late Norman A. and Julia Mae (Coble) Seguin.

Doreen devoted many years of her life to caring for others through her work as a nurse. She spent many years at St. Theresa Nursing Home before retiring from Campbell Hall Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Facility. But Doreen’s nurturing spirit extended far beyond her career. Caring for others was simply who she was.

Doreen was the kind of woman whose door was always open. She welcomed family, friends, and those in need with a warm embrace, a beautiful smile, and a helping hand. Her home was a revolving door and a permanent open invitation. No one was ever made to feel like a stranger, and no one ever left her home hungry. She ruled her kitchen with love, effortless grace, and, as we would remember, a little bit of chaos.

Her home carried the comforting scents of warm apple pie, turkey, coffee, and pine sol especially during the holidays. Her dining table was always beautifully dressed, full of laughter and somehow never had quite enough chairs for everyone who gathered around it. What mattered most to Doreen was not perfection—it was having her people together.

Doreen found joy in the simple moments she shared with her family. She loved movies, especially the Harry Potter films and the Twilight trilogies, and she enjoyed watching her favorite game shows. She treasured time with her children and grandchildren and had a special way of making even ordinary moments feel memorable.

Whether she was taking everyone on long shopping adventures and making sure each person picked out a little something, or gathering everyone into her room to snuggle together while going through her jewelry, clothes, and makeup, Doreen made her family feel included, loved, and cared for. She would happily share her rice cakes or a box of chocolates, always finding another way to make someone smile.

Doreen’s greatest gift was the love she gave so freely. She took in family members and friends, offered comfort when it was needed, and gave without expecting anything in return. Her kindness, generosity, laughter, and warmth left an imprint on countless lives.

Doreen is survived by her children, George Williams Jr., Julia Rodriguez, Wesley Williams, and Jean Rivera; her siblings, Wayne Seguin, Clifford Seguin, and Darlene Habiuk; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones who will carry her memory forward.

She was predeceased by her late husband, George Williams Sr.; her daughter, Joan Rodriguez; and her brother, Christopher Seguin.

Doreen and George were truly a source of laughter, light, and warmth. Their love and the life they built together will continue to live on through all those fortunate enough to have known and loved them.

Though Doreen is no longer with us in person, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lessons she taught will remain. She will live on every crowded holiday table, every warm kitchen, every shared laugh, every movie watched together, and in the hearts of all who called her Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Cousin, and Friend.

Her home may no longer have her physically in it, but the love she filled it with will never leave.

Rest peacefully, Doreen. You were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday September 25, 2026 from 12:00 PM-1:30 PM at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, New York.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday at 2PM at the Hillside Cemetery in Middletown, N.Y.
