Evelyn (Tyler) Kromm
May 15, 1927-November 28, 2024
Evelyn passed away peacefully at the age of 97 years. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by friends and family in the Webster, NY, and Goshen, NY, communities where she resided during her lifetime.
Evelyn was a proud wife, mother, and grandmother (including five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson). She enjoyed traveling, reading books, and doing crossword puzzles. Her true passion was people. Whether it was spending time with her family (especially during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), traveling with her “posse” (including one cross-country adventure!), or loving her Goshen neighbors as family, Evelyn felt great joy in meaningfully connecting with others.
She also generously gave her time and heart to others throughout her 63 years as an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Goshen. She served as a Deacon and as president of the Women’s Association, as well as a volunteer with numerous programs, including Meals on Wheels, community dinners, and bake sales.
Evelyn is survived by her son Alvin Jr.; daughter-in-law Jean (Robbins) Kromm; grandchildren Kimberly (Mark) Henning, Michele (Russell) Kirschbaum, Ryan Kromm and Cortney Ross, Adam (Alysha) Kromm; great-grandchildren Danielle (Matt) Hickman, Rachel Henning, Tyler Kirschbaum, Maya Kirschbaum, and Dominic Kromm; great-great-grandson Luca Hickman. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Sr. and her son David, as well as by her beloved cousins.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday December 12, 2024, at 12 Noon at the Slate Hill Cemetery in Goshen, N.Y.
