Joan Shoemaker of Middletown, New York passed away on May 17, 2026. She was 87.
The daughter of the late Earl and Anna Shoemaker, she was born on May 20, 1938 in Middletown, New York.
Joan sold Televisions and Appliances for over fifty years. She worked at White’s , Randall Radio, Kanan’s North End Sales and Sears during her time in sales. She was also a sales lady for Avon for over 43 years.
Most of all Joan loved the farm and all her animals over the years, especially her horses. The farm was the centerpiece of the family, and many celebrations and family memories took place there over the years.
Joan was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Middletown, N.Y.
Survivors include her nephew Mark Eason and his wife Toni and Michele Moran and her husband Mike. Her grand nieces and grandnephews Cassandra (David), Anna (Michael), Helena, Heather (Kevin), Ryan (Jessica) and Adam (Kelly). She is also survived by her great grandniece and great grandnephews Aiden, Ian, Colton, Jackson, Everleigh and Bennett.
She was predeceased by her sisters Eileen Eason and Virginia and Jean Shoemaker.
Visitation hours will be held on Friday May 22, 2026 from 10-11 A.M. with a Funeral Service at 11 A.M. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church 391 Mount Hope Road Middletown, N.Y.

Burial will follow in Wallkill Cemetery Phillipsburg, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church.
