Lawrence Otto Schatz

Lawrence Otto Schatz, 92 of Scotchtown, N.Y. passed away peacefully on November 12, 2025 at his home with his family by his side.

Lawrence was a retired Tool and Dye maker for the Ford Motor Co. in Mahwah, N.J. and was a driver for the Times Heral Record in Middletown, N.Y.

He enjoyed talking on his CB, working on cars and fixing lawn mowers. He especially loved spending time camping with his family.

Survivors include his daughter Janet Velie and her husband Steve of Middletown, N.Y. His son Kevin Schatz and his wife Robbin of Huguenot, N.Y. His daughter Judy Schatz and her companion John Wells of Ransom, Pennsylvania. His grandchildren James, Dale, Lauren, Melissa, Ashley, Nicholas, Kelsey and Keith Jr. and his many great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Elaine and his two sons Lawrence Schatz and Keith Schatz and his grandson Kevin Schatz.

A private memorial service will be held by the family at a later date
