Mildred Shoemaker of Howells, NY entered into rest on Monday August 11, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was 97 years young.
The daughter of the late George and Florence Decker, Mildred was born December 21, 1927. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
She was predeceased by her father, mother and brother George Decker. Her late husband John A Shoemaker to whom she married in 1945 but sadly passed in 1977. Also, her two sons George “Champ” Shoemaker, his living wife Barbara Shoemaker and John “Jack” Shoemaker, his deceased wife Suzanne Shoemaker. She is survived by her only living son, Ronald W Shoemaker and wife Patti. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 9 great greatgrandchildren.
Mildred was an active community volunteer for many years serving as a charter member of the Howells Fire Dept Ladies Auxiliary, the American Legion of Otisville and the Senior Citizens of Mt Hope where she thoroughly enjoyed all the trips she partook in.
Our family would like to thank the caring staff of the Valley View Center for Nursing Care & Rehab in Goshen, NY for their unwavering care during the years Millie resided there.
Mildred will be deeply missed by all who have had the chance to know and love her. She will be remembered always with love, gratitude and affection.
Visitation hours will be held on Thursday August 14, 2025 from 4-7 P.M. at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y.
Graveside Services will be held on Friday August 15, 2025 at 10 AM at Howells Cemetery Howells, N.Y.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Howells Fire Dept.
