Richard G. Smith

Richard G. Smith of Clearwater, Florida and a former longtime resident of the Middletown area passed away on September 16, 2022 in Clearwater, Florida. He was 92.

The son of the late Russell L. and Edna Smith, he was born on September 6, 1930 in Middletown, N.Y.

Richard was a longtime Tin Smith at the Middletown State Hospital.

He was an avid musician and was known for his talent on the piano. He played with the Corby Four and was asked to play with the Glen Miller Band.

Survivors include his daughters Julie Gessner and her husband William of Cuddebackville, N.Y. and Deborah A. Decker and her husband Daryl of Port Jervis, N.Y. His grandchildren Donald Smith, Christopher Smith, Jared Gessner and Chelsea Gessner. His great-grandchildren Brody Smith, Riley Smith, Nathaniel Smith and Isla Smith and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation hours will be held on Friday September 23, 2022 from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. with a Funeral Service at 1 P.M. at the Ralston-Lippincott-Hasbrouck-Ingrassia Funeral Home, Inc. 72 West Main St. Middletown, N.Y.

Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery Middletown, N.Y.
