It is with great sorrow that we announce that Ronald J. Vance passed away unexpectedly on August 21, 2025 at home. He was 65.
The son of Ronald and Lois Vance was born on June 4, 1960 in Middletown, N.Y. where he was raised and attended Middletown High School and graduated in 1978. He attended Utica University where he pursued a degree in Criminal Justice. He worked for many years for Wakefern in their Loss Prevention department. He went on to work for Barnes and Noble in their Loss Prevention department, and the Home Depot MET in their Merchandising department. He recently became the assistant building manager at the condominium complex that he resided in located in Suffern, N.Y.
During his time, he developed a strong bond with family members and close friends. He enjoyed playing ice hockey at various ice rinks. He also was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying time annually on the Salmon River with family and his close friends
Ron is survived by his son Troy Vance and his daughter Jenna Vance. His siblings Veronica Tobin, Victoria Felton, Dean (Donna) Vance, Randy Vance, Vernon (Toniann) Vance along with his nieces and nephews Kayla, Rachel, Maranda, John, Brian, Joey, Thomas Jr., James and Matthew and his great-nephews and niece Xavier, Isaiah and Arria. He is also survived by his cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents Ron and Lois Vance, his son Connor Vance and his brother-in-law John Felton.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 2-4 P.M. at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y.
Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
