Sandra Ann Swierski of Middletown, New York, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as lifetime resident of the area, passed away on August 23rd, 2026, with her devoted family by her side. She was 82.

The daughter of the late Madeline and Bud Leemon, she was born on February 5th, 1944 in Middletown, New York.

Sandy graduated from Middletown High School, where she built many lifelong friendships that she cherished to her last day. She worked at local, long-gone pharmacies – Pryluck’s and Bay Drugs – where she met the love of her life and husband, Tom Swierski. They shared 55 years of marriage, nourished by love, laughter, her homemade meatballs, sauce, and a variety of Polish dishes that she perfected using recipes passed down from her in-laws. Sandy expressed her love through cooking, bringing people together around beautiful meals and welcoming friends as family.

Sandy was loved by many and lived a life defined by kindness. Her work for Orange County Trust Bank and Horton Hospital allowed her to do what she did best: lend a hand or brighten the day of anyone who crossed her path. Her gentle and thoughtful nature continued well after retirement as she volunteered at Garnet Health Medical Center and the United Presbyterian Thrift Store. Her open heart and soft character changed the lives of everyone she knew.

Sandy was an adoring grandmother who celebrated every milestone, big or small, with boundless pride and love. She played a significant role in the lives of her granddaughters, Kailee and Paige Loiodice, from the days she cradled them in her arms to their days in college and beyond. Sandy’s memory will continue to be cherished by her daughter Kelly Swierski-Loiodice and husband Jim of Middletown, NY; her son Scott Swierski and lifetime partner Cara Catalano of Northridge, CA; her granddaughters, Kailee and Paige Loiodice of Middletown, NY; her sister Linda Crawford and husband Bruce Gittes of Palm Harbor, FL; her brother-in-law Gordon Crawford and wife Pam Crawford of Seminole, FL; numerous nieces and nephews, countless friends, and her beloved dog Annie. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom Swierski.
